Waffles, cooked | 8 |
Apple butter (or your favorite jam) | about 1/4 cup |
Black forest ham slices | 8 |
Havarti cheese, slices | 4 |
Fried egg | 4 |
Method of Preparation
Begin by frying the eggs in a skillet. Once cooked, remove them from the pan and set aside. Next, heat the black forest ham slices in the skillet. Aim for a slight caramelization on the ham for added flavor.
To assemble the sandwiches, take one cooked waffle. Spread a layer of apple butter over it. Next, add a fried egg, followed by a slice of Havarti cheese and the caramelized ham.
To close the sandwich, take another waffle, spread it with apple butter, and place it on top to create a delightful waffle sandwich. This recipe is not just delicious; it’s an easy brunch idea that everyone will love!

Tips for the Perfect Waffle Sandwich
Choose Your Waffles Wisely: Opt for waffles that are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. This will create a better texture for your sandwich.
Add Something Imported: Try adding Branston Pickle and cheddar cheese to a buttered waffle for an English/American fusion.
Experiment with Spreads: While apple butter works wonderfully, feel free to experiment with different spreads like honey or even pesto for a unique twist.
